Research

In addition to a professional focus in architectural restoration and conservation, throughlines of my work include practices of mending and repair, especially in contexts of conflict, where what gets preserved, replicated, or rebuilt reveals competing visions of the past and future. I am especially interested in how the Soviet Union and its contemporary successors use heritage, international heritage law, and the built environment for nation-building and identity formation. I explore these questions through visual essays that utilize material and archival research and architectural analysis.

Experience

I am currently interning at Jablonski Building Conservation in New York City (01/26 - 5/26), and completing my MS in Historic Preservation at Columbia University (5/26), where I am writing a thesis on the contradictions within international heritage frameworks and their application in post-Soviet contexts. Previously, I interned at World Monuments Fund (10/24 - 12/25) and the National Trust for Historic Preservation (6/24 - 8/24), among others.
